What engines are available?
Coming standard on all versions of the RAM 2500 is a 6.4-liter V8 engine that puts out 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. The engine comes with a cylinder deactivation system to help save you a bit of fuel for those long trips. It pairs with a smooth eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. All-wheel-drive is optional and standard on the Power Wagon. Optional is a Cummings 6.7-liter inline-six turbodiesel that comes with 370 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque. A specially developed six-speed automatic transmission is available with this engine. When properly equipped, the RAM 2500 can tow up to 19.370 pounds with a payload capacity of 4,520 pounds.
What are the Notable Features for the RAM 2500?
The first trim level out of the gate is the Tradesman, which comes with an eight-foot bed, a manually adjustable 40/20/40-split-bench seat, and black vinyl flooring. You also get an audio system that consists of an AM/FM radio and four speakers. Further tech features include a Uconnect system with a 5-inch touchscreen and Bluetooth. The higher you climb the trim ladder, the more luxurious the RAM 2500 becomes. Optional on the Tradesman and standard on higher trim is a Mega Cab that provides more legroom and reclining seats. Also standard on higher trims is a self-leveling rear air suspension that provides a comfortable and civilized ride. Luxury levels also come with full leather interiors, accents of real metal, and open-pore wood, plus a 17-speaker/750-watt Harman Kardon audio system. The Power Wagon includes a brilliant Uconnect infotainment system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen and the option for a larger 12-inch touchscreen.
What are some of the Safety Features?
The RAM 2500 comes with multiple different safety systems that are designed to keep you safe and secure on and off the road. Available is a Forward Collision Warning System with Active Braking, that warns the driver when a collision is immediate. If no action is taken, the system will automatically apply the brake and bring the truck to a complete stop. Also available is an Adaptive Cruise Control System that helps maintain a set distance between you and the vehicles ahead. When slower traffic is detected, the RAM 2500 will bring the speed down to zero, even with the trailer attached. Last but not least, is the Blind Spot Monitoring System with Rear Cross Path Detection, which scans your blind spot zones around and behind the vehicle so you can make safer lane changes.
