The Grand Cherokee L has space for the whole family, but it certainly doesn't miss out on any of the Jeep fun! As with any vehicle, the capability of the Grand Cherokee L starts under the hood. Standard equipment is a 3.6L V6 engine that kicks out 290 horsepower and 257 lb-ft of torque. With the available Trailer Tow Package, the V6 Grand Cherokee L can haul up to 6,200 lbs. The available 5.7L V8 cranks out 357 horsepower, 390 lb-ft of torque, and can haul up to 7,200 lbs! Rear-wheel drive is standard on the Grand Cherokee L. However, three of Jeep's most capable drivetrains are available. Quadra-Trac I features full-time four-wheel-drive capability without pulling a lever or pushing a button. Quadra-Trac I provides fantastic all-weather traction with a 48% front and 52% rear axle torque split. Quadra-Trac II employs a two-speed transfer case that can automatically redistribute up to 100% of the engine's available torque to the axle with the most traction when the system detects slippage. Meanwhile, Active 4-Low provides excellent low-speed control. Quadra-Drive II operates similarly but adds an electronic limited-slip rear differential for unbeatable grip. Selec-Terrain with Auto, Sport, Snow, and Sand/Mud modes puts drivers in command of the vehicle's traction control. Last but certainly not least, Quadra-Lift air suspension features up to 10.9 inches of ground clearance and a smooth ride no matter where your travels take you.
