2020 Dodge Challenger vs 2020 Ford Mustang

Muscle cars aren't just for speed demons anymore. They are also family cars that come with a ton of space and all the latest technological equipment. Two of the best on the market today are the 2020 Dodge Challenger and the 2020 Ford Mustang. While they both come with powerful engines that are capable of tearing up the track, they also have sharp-looking interiors and tech equipment that you and your family crave. There is a lot to love about both of these vehicles, but which one is the best? For the answer, continue reading down below.

2020 Dodge Challenger Power & Handling

Three engines are available for the Dodge Challenger, and they all can deliver the power when called upon. The base SXT comes with a 3.6-liter V6 that pumps out 303 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque, which matches to a smooth eight-speed automatic transmission. Even more power can be derived from the R/T trim and its 5.7-liter V8 with 372 horses and 400 lb-ft of torque, which you can get with either the eight-speed automatic or a six-speed manual. The R/T Scat Pack ups the power with a 6.4-liter V8 that has 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. Last up is the dragstrip destroying SRT Hellcat, which has a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that rips out 717 horses and 656 lb-ft of torque. The Hellcat Redeye up the horsepower to 797. Rear-wheel-drive comes standard, but you can get all-wheel-drive with the SXT and GT trims.

2020 Ford Mustang Power & Handling

A few engine options are available for the Ford Mustang. The first comes in the Mustang Ecoboost, and it's a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder that makes 310 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, which comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission. A high-performance package ups the horsepower output to 330. GT models come with a 5.0-liter V8 that comes with 460 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque once again with the six-speed manual transmission as standard. Bullit trims come with the same engine but ups the horsepower to 480. Unfortunately, the power for the Mustang stops here as there is no pavement pounding 717 horsepower option. If you want more power, you're better off with the Challenger.

2020 Dodge Challenger Features & Design

Five trim levels are available for the 2020 Challenger, and each comes with an impressive amount of features. Starting things off is the SXT, which comes with keyless entry and ignition, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The GT takes things up a notch with upgraded interior trim, remote start, and rear parking sensors. Higher trims come with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, heated seats, a heated steering wheel, launch control, larger brakes, and an adaptive suspension. The top of the Challenger chain is the Hellcat Redeye, which adds a Widebody kit, lightweight Brembo brakes, a revised suspension, and gripper tires.

2020 Ford Mustang Features & Design

Like the Challenger, the Ford Mustang comes with five different trim levels, and there are some fun features here. Kicking things off is the EcoBoost, which comes with 17-inch wheels, keyless entry and ignition, a 4.2-inch center display screen, and a six-speaker sound system. A FordPass Connect system is available with a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. Moving up to the EcoBoost Premium adds 18-inch wheels, leather upholstery, revised cabin trim, power-adjustable front seats, a nine-speaker audio system, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims add 18-inch wheels, the power-adjustable front seats, and rear parking sensors. You also get brakes upgrades and some styling options.

Conclusion:

There is a lot to love about both of these classic muscle cars, but we are going to give the victory to the Dodge Challenger.
