Ram and Dodge vehicles are no strangers to winning awards. They have been bringing home more hardware than likely any other automotive brand. That’s because these vehicles have been created with care and detail, along with all of the power and technology you could ever need. The 2021 Ram 1500 earned the top spot for the Truck of Texas, while the 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat won the top SUV aware for the SUV of Texas and the Full-size SUV of Texas. Our goal here today is to go a little further into what the event is, and even discuss each of these vehicles to go more in-depth on why they are so beloved. There’s a reason why they keep getting awarded, and that’s because they’re absolutely prefect. No matter your particular needs, you can never go wrong with this Ram or Dodge model. Can you tell me more about the awards?
The Ram 1500 has won this specific award three years running now. Along with being the Truck of Texas, it also brought home Off-road Pickup Truck, Luxury Pickup Truck of Texas, and Full-size Pickup Truck. The event itself is held by the Texas Automotive Writers Association, which means that you know it is being judged by the best of the best. Many of the reasons why this truck impressed was due to the addition of the TRX trim, which offered the kind of performance they were looking for on and off the road. The Durango has won this award six times in the last eight years, which is another number that is impossible to ignore. The writers really enjoyed all of the power offered with the SRT Hellcat trim in particular, especially the 710 horsepower. And who can blame them?
What does the Ram 1500 have to offer?
The 2021 Ram 1500 offers seven trim levels and four different engine options. Those are a lot of configurations that you can be driving around with. That doesn’t even touch on the quad- or crew-cab configuration that gets you different amounts of legroom inside. The standard engine uses Ram’s eTorque system, and is a 3.6-liter V6. You’ll be able to get 269 pound-feet of torque and around 305 horsepower. Some of the standard features include air conditioning, 18-inch steel wheels, trailer sway damping, a five-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker stereo, and a tilt/telescoping steering wheel. Some available features include side steps, a 12-inch touchscreen, blind-spot monitoring, a wireless charging pad, leather upholstery, and forward collision mitigation.
What will I find for the Dodge Durango?
Dodge is working overtime to ensure that the 2021 Dodge Durango is everything you want and need it to be. That’s why you’ll be able to choose from a great lineup of powerful engines that will never let you down. The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6, which outputs 260 pound-feet of torque and 295 horsepower. However, the star of the show is the SRT Hellcat. This model gets you a V8 engine that can produce 710 horsepower. You’ll find features like a new front fascia, a revised rear spoiler, suspension revisions, reduced understeer, and larger front brake rotors to bring this beast to a halt.
