What type of power does the Gladiator get?
The Gladiator is powered by FCA's tried-and-true 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine. It comes standard with Engine Stop-Start (ESS) and puts out 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine used for the Gladiator is specifically engineered to offer a broad torque band with a focus on low-end torque - making it able to handle extreme off-roading. For transmissions, a six-speed manual comes standard, with an eight-speed automatic as an option. The Gladiator's design and power setup allow for it to achieve best-in-class towing and 4x4 payload, up to 7,650 pounds of towing capacity, and up to 1,600 pounds of payload capacity.
Is the Gladiator Trail Rated?
It sure is! Gladiator Sport, Overland and Rubicon models carry the Jeep Trail Rated badge. This is in thanks to off-road features such as Command-Trac 4x4 system with 2.72:1 crawl ratio (this comes on Sport and Overland models), or the Rock-Trac 4x4 system with a “4LO” ratio of 4:1 and Tru-Lok locking differentials (and this one comes standard on Rubicon models). The Rubicon model offers the most off-road-ready setup and comes standard with rear steel heavy-duty off-road rear bumper and available front steel winch-ready bumper with removable end caps. It will give you up to 30 inches of water fording, up to 7,650-lb. towing and a 1,600-lb. 4x4 payload capacity. The Gladiator Rubicon also has an approach angle of 43.6 degrees, breakover angle of 20.3 degrees, departure angle of 26 degrees and ground clearance of 11.1 inches - all important numbers for those who plan to go beyond the road.

While the Gladiator cabin certainly carries Jeep heritage, it is also packed with modern technology. All Gladiators come with Uconnect technology - with either a 5-inch, 7-inch and 8.4NAV screen. The Uconnect system offers easy-to-use features, fast startup times and touchscreens that display high-resolution graphics. It is homebase for communications, entertainment and navigation. The 7.0 and 8.4NAV systems come standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are two USB ports and a USB-C port up front and two in reach of occupants in the back seat.
