The 2021 Durango offers aggressive styling, a new interior with a driver-centric cockpit, and, of course, a proven supercharged engine that gives it all of the power it could ever need. When this SUV starts to arrive, you’ll want to make sure you get a jump start on ordering it. The 2021 model year will be the only time that Dodge builds the Durango SRT Hellcat. Can you tell me about the aggressive styling?
The exterior of the Durango has been refreshed to make sure that you know this is a distinctly Dodge vehicle. It works perfectly to blend muscle car DNA with SRT to create something bold and fierce. There is a sculpted hood, a new front fascia, rear spoiler, signature LED daytime running lamps, a new grille, and LED low/high headlamps. In regards to the LED headlamps, they are more modern now, making sure that you have unique Dodge signature LED DRLs. The SRT Hellcat does not have fog lamps, since they want to create additional airflow to help cool the power engine. What is the SRT Hellcat engine?
Underneath the hood is the reason why people are flocking to this SUV. The engine itself is a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8. It has the ability to deliver 645 pound-feet of torque, and a best-in-class 710 horsepower. To make things even better, it is connected to an eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. Engineers have tested and developed this engine to make sure it is perfect for the Durango, and can handle driving in track situations for extended periods of time. A few major components of this engine include forged-alloy pistons, heat-treated aluminum-alloy cylinder heads, a cast-iron engine block, powder-forged connecting rods, and a specially tuned crankshaft damper.

There are many ways that Dodge has made sure that the Durango is able to make use of the Hellcat engine. The first is through the front fascia design, which works with an air guide, and updated engine oil cooler duct. There is even a new rear spoiler that adds improved aerodynamic balance, and helps to create a massive increase in rear downforce. Engineers have created improved handling, and they have included Brembo brakes. Other great features include Launch Assist and Launch Control.
