What engines power the Wrangler?
The 2021 Jeep Wrangler comes standard with four-wheel-drive and a 3.6-liter V6 engine that makes an impressive 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Perhaps the best thing about this engine is it comes with a mild-hybrid eTorque system that helps improve the Wranglers fuel economy. Pairing with this engine is either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission, both of which provide you with a smooth ride. Optional is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that pumps out 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, available at every trim level. Last but not least is the diesel-powered 3.0-liter diesel V6 that ups the torque to 442 lb-ft. Both engines pair with the eight-speed automatic. The Wrangler 4xe plug-in option is expected later in the model year.
What can you tell me about the Wrangler's features?
Four trim levels are available for the Jeep Wrangler, and each comes with an impressive amount of advanced features. Starting off the trim lineup is the Sport, which comes with 17-inch steel wheels, skid plates, tow hooks, foglights, and a 5-inch touchscreen. The Sport has a Willy's variant that adds four-wheel disk brakes, limited-slip rear differential, and all-weather floor mats. The next trim level up is the Sport S, which adds more fun features such as alloy wheels, air conditioning, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and power windows and locks. A sub trim for the Sport S is the Altitude, which adds more awesome features such as an upgraded off-road suspension and black interior and exterior accents. The third trim level we will discuss is the Sahara, which comes with full-time four-wheel drive, automatic climate control, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Altitude version of the Sahara adds leather seats. Last is the off-road-ready Rubicon, which provides drivers with 33-inch off-road tires and more massive fender flares, 4:1 low-range gearing, an electronic disconnecting front stabilizer bar, and rock rails.
What are some of the Wrangler's safety features?
While traveling on and off the road, the Jeep Wrangler keeps you safe, thanks to a complete variant of safety features. Available is an Advanced Safety Group, which comes with an Adaptive Cruise Control System that allows you to maintain a preset distance between the Wrangler and the traffic in front. There is also a Forward Collision Mitigation System that will warn you if an accident is imminent and can even apply the breaks if you get to close. The last safety system we will talk about is the Blind Spot Monitoring System with Rear Cross Path Detection, which uses sensors to detect vehicles in the other lane or behind you.
