Power of the 2022 Ram 1500
Year after year, the Ram 1500 has some of the most impressive engine lineups on the planet, and in 2022 the tradition continues. Most trims will come with a powerful 3.6-liter V6 engine that delivers an impeccable 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. If that's not enough power for you, you can opt for the 5.7-liter V8 that kicks out an astonishing 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. With the V6, the Ram 1500 has an eTorque system with a 48-volt battery which improves the fuel economy and stop/start capability. This system is optional for the V8 engine. If diesel power is what you're after, the Ram 1500 has it as it comes with an optional 3.0-liter turbodiesel that makes 260 horsepower and an astounding 480 lb-ft of torque. Finally, we can't talk about the Ram 1500 without talking about the TRX, which was introduced last year and brings back its supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that kicks out 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. These engines pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and when fully equipped, the Ram 1500 can tow up to 12,750 pounds with a payload capacity of 2,300 pounds.
