What Powers the 2023 Dodge Hornet Lineup?
The engine you get from the Dodge Hornet depends on the trim level you choose. The GT trim comes first with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that delivers 265-plus horsepower along with 290 lb-ft of torque. This provides the Hornet with a quick 0-60 time of just 6.5 seconds. The GT’s turbocharged engine pairs with an 8-speed automatic transmission powering an all-wheel drive system for superior traction and performance even in inclement weather. The R/T trim features a turbocharged 1.3L I-4 engine with a rear axle-mounted electric motor and a rechargeable battery pack. The PHEV setup of the Hornet R/T gives it 285-plus horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent through a six-speed automatic transmission. While the engine powers the front wheels, the rear wheels are powered by the electric motor, coordinating for all-wheel drive capabilities. The Hornet R/T features PowerShot, a 15-second burst of 25 extra horsepower, which brings the 0-60 time down to just 6.1 seconds!
Exterior Design of the 2023 Dodge Hornet
The Dodge Hornet is a CUV with the muscle car attitude that Dodge is known for. It maintains the stance and size of a CUV, but proudly nods at the brand’s muscle car heritage. At the front end, you’ll find an aggressive look with a wide grille featuring a mail-slot opening worn by the high-performance Charger models. At the center of the grille is the Dodge Rhombi symbol. Below the main grille is an enlarged lower grille to provide more engine airflow and further its aggressive road presence. Additional engine airflow is provided by dual functional heat extractors on the hood which also add to the muscle car style. The overall appearance of the Hornet is sleek, aerodynamic, and streamlined with sharp edges and muscular curves. Black cladding runs along the bottom of the car and over the wheel flares to add a touch of ruggedness. At the rear, an LED light strip spans the trunk lid from both taillight housings. For the first time in Dodge history, the rear Rhombi logo is illuminated with LED lighting to stand out in the dark.

Inside the all-new Hornet, it is all about the driver. The Hornet provides a cockpit-like feeling with a 12.3-inch fully digital gauge cluster with three reconfigurable tiles. Shifting your focus toward the center stack, you’ll find a 10.25-inch horizontal infotainment touchscreen with the latest Uconnect 5 infotainment software. The center stack is angled slightly to face the driver to add to the commanding feeling. The lower section of the center console features LED-illuminated cupholders, a leather-wrapped shift knob, an ignition button, drive mode buttons, and physical climate control buttons.
